his is the history of the Morrissey family of Montreal during their residency at 2226 Girourd Avenue—it includes family history, births and deaths, holidays at the their country cottage, evenings playing cards, the generations of Morrisseys who lived there, and the presence of Edith Sweeney Morrissey for whom the door was always open for any family member who needed a place to live—from the mid-1920s to the late 1960s. Stephen Morrissey writes, "This memoir is an addendum to my book of poems, Girouard Avenue (2009). This is my psychic center, this is where I began in life and where I often return in dreams, poems, and memories."
